KASARGOD: The 125th birth anniversary of poet Govinda Pai will be celebrated on March 23 with various programmes.
The organising committee chairman C.H.Kunhambu told media persons here on Saturday that the foundation stone of the Govinda Pai memorial complex will be laid in the morning of March 23.
Union Minister for Cultural Affairs Ambika Soni, State Cultural Affairs Minister M.A.Baby, Karnataka former Chief Minister Veerappa Moily, P.Kar unakaran MP, C.H. Kunhambu MLA and film actor Murali will address the memorial meet.
Kannada Development Authority chairman Dr. Siddhalingappa, Rashtrakavi Siva Rudhrappa, Sara Abu-backer and Amrutha Someswaran will attend the programmes.
C.H.Kunhambu said a trust has been form-ed with Veerappa Moily as chairman and D.Krishnanada Chowta as managing trustee for the construction of the Govinda Pai memorial complex.
