Sudhakara Rao takes charge as Chief Secy.

Sudhakara Rao took charge as the new Chief Secretary of Karnataka Government here this morning from outgoing Chief Secretary P.B. Mahishi.

P.B. Mahishi, who occupied the post till yesterday, has been transferred as the Chairman of Karnataka Power Corporation. Neeraja Raj, who is a senior officer than Sudhakara Rao, has been appointed as the Chairman of Karnataka Urban Infrastructure Development and Finance Corporation.

The rumours of P.B. Mahishi being transferred after the implementation of President's Rule in Karnataka were rife when Governor Rameshwar Thakur assumed office. It was alleged that Congress party played a role in his transfer.

Sudhakara Rao was born on Sept. 3, 1949 at Udupi, Dakshina Kannada. He passed IAS in 1973.
