Darfur benefit planned

Passage to India in Shipoke, Pennsylvania will hold a dinner and silent auction from 5 to 10 p.m. Sunday at the restaurant to benefit those living in Darfur, a region of Sudan that has experienced political unrest. Owner Lenna Shenoy said she was inspired to do something after watching a television show about Darfur.

"It's people killing people, and I thought just here in the U.S. we have the government helping us, we have insurance agencies but back there they have nothing," she said.

Passage to India will donate proceeds to Oprah's Angel Network which will forward the money to Darfur. Tickets cost $80 and can be purchased at 233-1202.
