Syndicate Bank gives Rs 5 lakh for school building

UDUPI: Syndicate Bank has released a sum of Rs 5 lakhs as contribution to the construction of Rs 40 Lakh building of Government Women’s Pre-university College, Udupi.

Announcing this at the Udupi CMC Council meeting MLC Dr V S Acharya said that on the appeal submitted by MLA K Raghupathi Bhat and himself to the chairman and managing director of Syndicate Bank, the donation has come from the bank.The project also includes six lecture halls, principal chamber etc.

Speaking at the meeting MLA K Raghupathi Bhat said the repair of Malpe - Vadabandeshwara Fisheries road, under the flood relief fund, has been delayed as Tar and Steel, the third party inspectors have specified very high standards for the road.

‘‘We have written to the government to appoint local engineers, either from PWD or Zilla Panchayath Engineering Department, as third party inspectors. In a week the government may appoint the local third party inspectors,’’ Bhat said.
