ISA chief lauds VTU

BELGAUM: Poornima Shenoy, president, India Semi-conductor Association (ISA), Bangalore visited VTU campus on Thursday.

Poornima was highly impressed by the technological developments in the university campus. She said VTU was growing on par with foreign universities.

VTU has already entered into an MoU with ISA along with VLSI Society of India in August 2005.

The objectives of the MoU are to bridge the gap between industry and academia, to facilitate faculty exchange programme to give course wise support and infrastructure support and infrastructure help to increase research in semiconductors to foster environment for entrepreneurship and streamline recruitment into-semi-conductor industry.

Speaking on the occasion, VTU Vice Chancellor, Dr K Balaveera Reddy said this unique initiative of VTU encompasses every possible effort to increase industry-oriented research, curriculum, faculty development and Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tool support to ecosystem creation.

At present 100 colleges under VTU networked through EDUSAT for the dissemination of critical information to 1 lakh engineering students.
