Most employees want to have romance at work: Monster Poll

With the opening up of the economy and the increasing numbers of multinational companies coming into the country, cultural and attitudinal changes are indeed setting in at a much faster pace in India, even at the workplace.

This is evident from a recent Monster Meter poll, in which 58% of respondents have either had office romances in the past or have expressed their willingness or openness to have one.

The Monster Meter, a product of Monster India, part of the leading global online careers and recruitment site Monster, the flagship brand of Monster Worldwide, Inc., is an ongoing series of online polls that gauge users’ opinions on a variety of topics relating to careers and the workplace.

To a Monster Meter question, “Have you ever had an office romance?, one-fourth (25%) of the participants said they have had such relationships, 23% replied that they would not mind having one, 10% said they are having one now, while a total of 42% found the concept inappropriate.

Commenting on the noticeable results, Dhruv Shenoy, VP, Marketing, Monster Asia, said, “The result of this poll is an indication of the changing social dynamics at the workplace. Today, to keep up with the pressures of job and career, employees may be inclined to spend more and more time at the office. It also may mean they are spending more time with their colleagues, resulting in more companionships formed at the workplace.”

The results of this Monster Meter are based on over 12191 votes cast by Monster users from September 1-September 14, on the Monsterindia.com job search page.
