Freedom Fighter INA Sunder Rao Felicitated

Veteran freedom fighter and close aide of Netaji Subhaschandra Bose, U Sunder Rao was felicitated by Bharat Seva Dal district Committee (R) and Department of Youth Services and Sport on Sunday October 2 here.

U Sunder Rao had taken an active part in the freedom movement. He was considered as the close aid of firebrand freedom fighter, Netaji Subhashchandra Bose. He was the junior officer in the Indian National Army (INA) founded and led by Netaji.

The felicitation programme began at 8.30 am on Sunday with a 'Prabhat Pheri' procession from Jyothi Circle to Town Hall. After garlanding Mahatma Gandhi's statue, which is in the Town Hall premises, freedom fighter was felicitated. Deputy commissioner H V Parshwanath, Pradeep Kalkura, president of Bharat Seva Dal, secretary Jagadish Shenoy and G K Bhat Seraje were present on the occasion.
